Food + Wine Presents Taste of Beverly Hills, Celebrate the City with the zip!
When: From 09/02/2010 to 09/05/2010
The City of Beverly Hills will be celebrating its famed zip code, "90210" on September 2- September 5 with a taste of Beverly Hills presented by Food & Wine. The four day festival will consist of everything from local restaurant tastings, live cooking demonstrations from world renown chefs, a series of wine seminars from Napa’s top vintners, live musical performance from award winning artists, and may include daily fashion shows and sneak previews of upcoming major films.
Each day will have a different theme, which will be kicked off with the “9.02.10 Beverly Hills Celebration.”
Montage Beverly Hills’ Executive Pastry Chef Richard Ruskell will be making some of his famous sinful specialties. With just one taste, you will understand why this famed patisserie has twice been named one of the "Top Ten Pastry Chefs in America" by Chocolatier magazine.
Below highlights the themes of each day:
9.02.10 Beverly Hills Celebration - 6:30p.m.-11:00 p.m. The event is headlined by international pop sensation and Grammy nominee Natasha Bedingfield, along with CNN Talk Show host Larry King as master of ceremonies.
Come join Mayor Jimmy Delshad at the Chamber's An Evening with the Mayor, as he delivers this year’s “State of the City" remarks as part of the City’s celebration of “90210”. Guests will enjoy An Evening with the Mayor and Taste of Beverly Hills which includes unlimited gourmet food from renowned Beverly Hills restaurants and chefs, drinks and live performance by Natasha Bedingfield. Montage Beverly Hills’ Executive Pastry Chef Richard Ruskell will be serving delectable delights from 6:00 p.m. – 11:00p.m.9.03.10 The Art of Mixing - 7:00 p.m. -11:00 p.m. Where the best in culinary meets the best in cocktails! As guests sample cuisine from the city’s top restaurants, the evening will also showcase some of the city’s top mixologists and DJs, “mixing” talents. Some of the most unique and perfectly blended cocktails designed by some of LA’s top mixologists. Grand Tasting featuring 40+ hand-picked restaurants from the Los Angeles area. 9.04.10 Secrets from the Kitchen 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The day will be filled with session after session from chefs, master sommeliers, and other experts in their fields, showcasing their tricks of the trade of all things food and wine. Montage Beverly Hills’ Executive Pastry Chef Richard Ruskell will be serving delectable delights from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Additionally, the day will feature LG’s Taste of Something Better cooking competition, hosted by chef Tim Love. LG Cooking Competition: chefs battle to represent North America in the 2010 LG World Cooking Championship to be held in Korea. Grand Tasting featuring 40+ hand-selected restaurants from the Los Angeles area. Wine sessions from Master Sommeliers, wine educators and winery owners. Beer, wine & cocktail. Astings. LA’s best DJs. Live musical performance.
9.05.10 Date Night - 7:00 p.m.-11:00p.m. Enjoy a beautiful evening of food, wine and entertainment with a significant other or friends, while partaking in some of the city’s top restaurants and their signature entrees. Spend one-on-one time with industry experts and delve into a beautiful variety of wines, showcasing vintners top wines, but also pouring some everyday selections. Live cooking demonstrations from favorite regional chefs.
There will also be wine tasting, featuring 40+ hand-selected restaurants from the Los Angeles area. Wine sessions from Master Sommeliers, wine educators and winery owners. Beer, wine & cocktail tastings. LA’s best DJs. Live musical performance.
9.05.10 The Art of Bruch – 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. No one does brunch like LA. Avoid the hour-and-a-half waits and come partake in an unparalleled brunch experience. LA’s finest brunch hot spots will be serving up each of their signature dishes along side free-flowing Bloody Marys, Bellinis and Mimosas. Live “Gospel Brunch” performance (modern interpretation). 50 foot grand table featuring bread, pastries and other freshly baked breakfast goods.
Brunch specialty drinks (i.e. Bloody Mary Bar, Mimosas and Belinis). Grand Tasting featuring 40+ hand-selected restaurants from the Los Angeles area. Wine sessions from Master Sommeliers, wine educators and winery owners. KCRW Pie Contest hosted by Evan Kleiman. Live cooking demonstrations from favorite regional chefs. At 12:15 p.m. Montage Beverly Hills’ Executive Pastry Chef Richard Ruskell will be doing a demonstration called “Chemical Garnishes,” using molecular cooking to make interesting garnishes for desserts. 9.05.10 BBQ in the Hills- 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. The festival will culminate with a “BBQ in the Hills”. Expect the unexpected as local top chefs and restaurants express their interpretation of what BBQ is all about. Grand Tasting featuring 40+ hand-selected restaurants from the Los Angeles area. Festival’s finale show featuring top musical performers, acts and celebrities. Wine sessions from Master Sommeliers, wine educators and winery owners. Live cooking demonstrations from favorite regional chefs. Beer, wine & cocktail tastings. LA’s best DJs.
